About the Role
Daqscribe is seeking a motivated Embedded Software Engineering Intern to join our high-performance systems team for Summer 2025. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers developing software for next-gen Ethernet recorders and real-time protocol conversion modules. Expect hands-on experience with embedded Linux, firmware development, and hardware/software integration.
What You’ll Do
- Write, debug, and test embedded C/C++ code for x86 and ARM-based systems (Zynq, Versal, etc.)
- Develop drivers for I2C, SPI, UART, and DMA peripherals
- Assist with Linux bring-up, U-Boot config, and Yocto builds
- Participate in team design reviews and contribute to internal tools and documentation
- Help test our protocol converters (e.g., sFPDP to Ethernet) using real-world hardware
What We’re Looking For
- Currently pursuing a BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Familiar with embedded C/C++ and Linux fundamentals
- Understanding of basic digital protocols (I2C, SPI, UART) and memory-mapped I/O
- In-depth knowledge of the OSI Model
- Comfortable with Git and basic shell scripting
- Bonus: Experience with FPGA-based platforms (Xilinx), Yocto, or real-time systems (RTOS)
