The Role

We’re looking for a Software Engineering Intern who’s passionate about C/C++ development and GUI frameworks like Qt. You’ll be part of a small but fast-moving engineering team developing a secure, remote-controlled GUI application built on gRPC. This tool will serve as a client interface to control Daqscribe’s data capture hardware over the network with encryption and streamlined performance.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement C/C++ code to support encrypted gRPC pipelines for secure remote communication
  • Design and build a cross-platform GUI using Qt that interfaces with the remote backend
  • Contribute to API and library development for modular control of embedded systems
  • Write test cases, perform unit/integration testing, and document results
  • Collaborate with firmware and FPGA teams to integrate your tools into real-world systems

Basic Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Computer ScienceComputer Engineering, or related discipline
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++
  • Familiarity with software version control (Git) and Linux development
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Available full-time for at least 2 months during summer 2025

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with QtQML, or other GUI toolkits
  • Familiarity with gRPCprotobufs, or similar RPC frameworks
  • Understanding of secure communication, encryption concepts, or network protocols
  • Interest in systems-level programming and performance optimization
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in ambiguous or fast-evolving problem spaces

Why Daqscribe?

  • Work on real tools used in aerospace, defense, and research environments
  • Gain hands-on experience with industry-standard technologies and protocols
  • Learn from a multidisciplinary team working across embedded systems, networking, and UI/UX
  • Potential pathway to a full-time offer upon graduation
