About Daqscribe
At Daqscribe, we build tools that capture the world’s most critical data — when precision, speed, and reliability matter most. From high-performance Ethernet recorders to real-time protocol conversion systems, we enable mission-critical operations across aerospace, defense, telecom, and advanced research. Our team thrives on innovation, technical rigor, and solving complex challenges with custom-engineered solutions. If you’re curious, hands-on, and driven to work on technology that makes an impact, you’ll find a home here.
The Role
We’re looking for a Software Engineering Intern who’s passionate about C/C++ development and GUI frameworks like Qt. You’ll be part of a small but fast-moving engineering team developing a secure, remote-controlled GUI application built on gRPC. This tool will serve as a client interface to control Daqscribe’s data capture hardware over the network with encryption and streamlined performance.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and implement C/C++ code to support encrypted gRPC pipelines for secure remote communication
- Design and build a cross-platform GUI using Qt that interfaces with the remote backend
- Contribute to API and library development for modular control of embedded systems
- Write test cases, perform unit/integration testing, and document results
- Collaborate with firmware and FPGA teams to integrate your tools into real-world systems
Basic Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
- Strong programming skills in C/C++
- Familiarity with software version control (Git) and Linux development
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Available full-time for at least 2 months during summer 2025
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Qt, QML, or other GUI toolkits
- Familiarity with gRPC, protobufs, or similar RPC frameworks
- Understanding of secure communication, encryption concepts, or network protocols
- Interest in systems-level programming and performance optimization
- Ability to work independently and thrive in ambiguous or fast-evolving problem spaces
Why Daqscribe?
- Work on real tools used in aerospace, defense, and research environments
- Gain hands-on experience with industry-standard technologies and protocols
- Learn from a multidisciplinary team working across embedded systems, networking, and UI/UX
- Potential pathway to a full-time offer upon graduation
