Inspiring the next generation of innovators, Daqscribe was honored to host a talented group of high school students for a summer internship program in partnership with the Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute at Florida Atlantic University (FAU).

Held from July 21–25, 2025, this immersive program bridged the dynamic fields of Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Human Neuroscience, offering students a rare opportunity to engage in cutting-edge scientific exploration at the intersection of technology and the human brain.

A Collaborative Effort for Deeper Learning

This internship was made possible through the generous support and collaboration of Professors Sang Wook Hong and Yosun Yoon, along with the dedicated team at the FAU Brain Institute. Their mentorship, combined with hands-on guidance from Daqscribe’s engineering team, created a rich, interdisciplinary experience that challenged students to think critically, solve real-world problems, and work collaboratively in a professional research setting.

Exploring Complex Topics in Science & Engineering

Throughout the week, students engaged in a wide range of advanced topics designed to stimulate curiosity and foster innovation. These included:

  • The Human Mind & Neuroscience
  • Neural Decoding and Face Perception
  • Signals & Systems: Data Acquisition and Signal Processing
  • Brain Stimulation and Cognitive Enhancement
  • Team-Based Research on Brain Stimulation Applications and Impacts

This comprehensive curriculum not only exposed students to the technical aspects of data acquisition and neural systems but also emphasized the importance of ethical research, creative thinking, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Innovation in Action

One of the highlights of the program was the opportunity for interns to develop and present original product ideas related to brain stimulation technologies. These innovative concepts reflected the students’ growing understanding of the field and their potential to contribute to future advancements in neuroscience and biomedical engineering.

In addition to product design, students contributed to ongoing research discussions and data collection initiatives, giving them firsthand experience in how industry and academia collaborate to push the boundaries of human knowledge.

A Bright Future Ahead

We extend our heartfelt thanks once again to Professors Hong and Yoon and to the entire FAU Brain Institute team for their commitment to advancing STEM education and for making this unforgettable week possible. Most importantly, congratulations to all the interns who completed the program. Your hard work, creativity, and enthusiasm give us great hope for the future of science and innovation.
