nDiscovery Release Notes Release Date: July 10, 2025 Version: 1.2.0

Here’s What’s New:

Performance & Infrastructure Upgrades

This update includes major backend improvements and code refactoring for cleaner memory handling, internal threading for bitrate control, and centralized DB access. Unix time stamps are supported with nanosecond precision in the Jump to Time window.

Improved File Format & Session Support

Support for ntcap and pcap_ns file viewing in Wireshark has been added. Session handling has also been improved to support special characters, underscores, and stricter validation of session paths.

Deeper Insight & Traceability

A new log file (nDiscovery.log) tracks the full job flow and lifecycle, while new alerts improve clarity during sensitive actions like ‘Convert TX Rate’, copy, move, delete, convert to pcap, and MDP.

Enhanced User Experience

Interface improvements include clearer alerts, pop-up reminders, and better real-time GUI updates when editing or managing sessions and runs. This version introduces full license activation support and improves handling of each password-protected jobs.

Bug Fixes

  • Better error handling for broken ntcap files, missing MetaDataParser executable, and empty event descriptions.
  • Improved duration calculation for one- and two-digit microsecond timestamps.
  • “Jump to Time” window has been reconfigured to support 4-digit years.
  • MDP logic updated to skip over corrupted files.
